ISO “A” System:

  • The ISO “A” system is based on the international standard ISO 216.
  • The most used sizes in this system are A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, etc.
  • Each size is half the size of the next larger one when folded parallel to its shorter sides.
  • A0 is the largest size, with an area of 1 square meter, and A10 is the smallest, with an area of 1/100th of a square meter.

ARCH (Architecture) System (US):

  • The ARCH system is primarily used for architectural drawings in the United States.
  • The sizes include Arch A, Arch B, Arch C, Arch D, Arch E, Arch E1, Arch E2, etc.
  • The sizes vary depending on the intended use, with Arch E being the largest commonly used size.

ANSI (Engineering) System (US):

Lamination protects drawings from elements and allows the use of dry wipe markers. It’s recommended for long-term outdoor use or heavy usage scenarios.
Drawings containing color-coded information may print better in colour. Light colours like yellow or blue may not reproduce well in black and white.
